The wooden Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God Sohodol

by florin

“In the north of Sohodol village – the eastern part of Baia de Fier commune – there is the church of Sohodol, built of wood, without a defined style. (…) The interest of the church, now closed to worship, lies in the fact that it shows the development of the wood carving craft and the technique of window construction, roofing of houses made of wood, the application of window doors, as well as other components of various household constructions two centuries ago[1]”.
